It's not THEIR definition of an infinite, it's THE definition of an infinite. What does the word infinite mean? It can go on FOREVER. If there's a super required it can't go on FOREVER since you have a FINITE amount of supers. If you have a finite amount of something, that automatically precludes it from being an INFINITE. Like I said, this is common sense...something finite cannot be infinite.

LOL, OK. Let's start at the top.
A3 was HELLA better than MvC1. Even though both games break down into infinite fighter at high levels, at least A3 has more than 6 playable characters. MvC1 only has Strider, War Machine, Gold War Machine, Red Venom, Wolverine and Hulk. You play anyone else, you get killed absolutely for free. Sad but true. And in that list, only Strider and Gold War Machine can't kill off the next character for free if the first one dies. MvC1 is for the most part about hitting the person ONCE, killing their first character then getting guaranteed guard break into infinite on the 2nd one. MvC was a lot of fun but at high levels of play, it was a terrible game.
As for MSF, that's probably one of the worst games ever made. MSF has a lot of infinites in it...some of them were exactly the same as XSF. Same button sequences and everything. Dhalsim's infinite is exactly the same as his XSF one. And this game has no undizzy factor, short blockstun (which means easier and more practical guard breaks) and to top it off has a character that beats almost every other character for free. Wolverine owns everyone but Iron Zangief pretty much for free. Iron Zangief gets owned by most characters with projectiles. Then projectile characters get owned by Wolverine for free. This 3-sequence is how you can describe MSF.
LOL, you say infinites are why MvC2 is bad, yet they play NO part in the game, and you say that 2 games that were about NOTHING but infinites (ok...to be fair MvC1 was about 50% guaranteed chip damage every 8 seconds too) are better. You have NO idea what you're talking about, kid.

Commando is not a very good character because he can't beat any top tier character and is not even worth 1/2 of any top tier character. He can't beat keepaway, you have to get magnificently lucky to stop a Magneto or Storm rushing you down and his projectile threat is so minimal that Cyclops doing something like hitting low fierce over and over and calling Blackheart every now and then leaves him with no plausible solutions. THAT is why the character sucks. He has a good assist though.

You can be the best Ironman player on the planet. You could be able to bridge into infinite after low strong every time, even better than the Japanese can do it. Yet even if you were Jesus himself controlling Iron Man, you couldn't beat say...a Sentinel/Commando team. That's just the sad truth of it...Iron Man doesn't have an answer to angled air threats, so he'll have to call assists often, and I'll just counter assist you with Commando to swat them away over and over. This way, your Iron Man will not only get killed, you'll get another member of your team killed along with him. Maybe this is why you hate Commando so much. You have no idea what is and what isn't good in this game. Another prime example of Sirlin's point...you didn't actually play the real game, you know what's good in the game that follows YOUR rules, but you don't know anything about the REAL game because you've never played it.

Yeah Commando sucks. But Iron Man is even worse. I put Commando first on that list because Iron Man can't attack without getting into Commando's prime range. Commando is Iron Man's straight counter character.

Um...Ryu's dragon punch assist is pretty good. Short invincibility burst and does one hit so the damage doesn't get reduced. Yeah, Ken/Cammy's are generally better but uh...it's still pretty good. Besides, what does this have to do with anything? Most of the really useful assists in the game are on the Capcom side. Sentinel, Doom, Cyclops, Blackheart, Psylocke are good Marvel assists. Capcom side has Commando, Cammy, Ken, Bison-B, Guile/Charlie anti-air, Zangief's 3, BBH projectile etc, etc. The majority of assists with extended invincibility are on the Capcom side (you also notice that most of the Capcom side listed are crappy characters). Your comment has nothing to do with this point.

On your problem against tournaments:
OK, kid, where do you live? If you live in the US, then I bet you could get to on without going too far out of your way. There are high level MvC2 players in Cali, NYC as usual but there are also lots of tournaments up and down the east coast (Philly, VA, Florida), Texas has an active tournament scene; I've been to Arizona tournaments. Pacific Northwest has lots of tournaments. OK/KS have a strong Tekken scene so I imagine they play some Marvel too. There are lots of tournaments if you just know where to look.
You should go to the next tournament in your area. Donate some money to the good players, learn how much you suck at the game (or just ask me if you'd like more clarification), and maybe learn how much MvC1 sucks as a competitive game if anyone there is good at it. But don't rely on your matches with your friends. If your posts are any evidence as to your competitive level, I would imagine they aren't very good either.

That's not true. Anything goes (aside from game freezing glitches... similar to the ones banned from MVC2 tournaments). Everything else is legal. FDC (Faultless Defense Cancel), IK (Instant Kills), FCD (Faultless Cancel Dash), ID (Impossible Dust) etc etc.

Ok about tournament play: this is not such a great solution. I mean its only certain games that are being played and others overlooked. Whoever has come to that tournament is either looking or they are playing. Whoever wins is declared the winner of the tournament. Keep in mind this is not delaring them "Master of the universe", so they just won that tournament and are given the title "the best in the world"? No. This cannot happen.

To say if I went to a tournament for Dragonball GT Final Bout. Now i know this game would never get to tournament sites because not many have played it or heard of it or some think it sucks. Now say I won this tournament....and so this makes me the best i the world? No. This can't be right. Because i ahvent played everyone i possibly can. But in my mind i am the greatest,however i realize in real life that i might not be "the best" because some jock in another place is at the same level of skill i'm on. So if i knew him i'd find and beat him and that STILL will not make me the best! As it stands, I personally consider myself the best at DBGT:FB. But I know that can't be the case since someone might actually beat me one day. So until that day i will consider myself the best.

I guess what i'm tryin to say is, is that tournaments can't solve everything.
