The Nintendo Wii?
I wonder if this is real or marketing misinformation to throw us off the trail before E3. Either way, it's weird.

Yeah, it’s pretty bizzare. Fun name to say though. Wii wii wii.
April 28th, 2006 at 2:48 am
Mff. So many obvious penis and urine jokes here. Not the image I was expecting Nintendo to want to promote.
At least the games will be good. Can’t imagine too many parents telling their boys “clean up your room and you can play with your wee(Wii)” though. Hreh.

Ugh. Revolution was a cool name. Why can’t they just keep it?
I mean, I can understand Dolphin->Gamecube, but still! Wii… just… just no.
April 28th, 2006 at 4:32 am
WTF… wiisuck.com ???
It does not suck. Take down that website! :)
April 28th, 2006 at 5:08 am
DF: Like I said before, the name does. :P
April 28th, 2006 at 9:56 pm
Though the name is pretty bad (I suggest we all pronounce it “why” instead of “we”), I’m sure we’ll all get over it when we try the thing out. Kinda like how everyone thought Windwaker was going to suck when they saw the graphics.
April 29th, 2006 at 2:09 am
I thought the name was awesome. You can make all kinds of hysterical commercials with it. Like a college guy telling his friend “You know, my mom likes playing with my Wii more than I do.” And his friend having a *WTF*ROFLCOPTER?* look on his face.
April 29th, 2006 at 10:54 am
Oh my. I liked Revolution more than Wii. Well, at least it’s a very original name.
April 29th, 2006 at 4:05 pm
Voulez vous jouer avec mon Wii? Qui, qui, bon cheri!
Yeah, you really can make all sorts of good commercials.
Furthermore, revolution isn’t possible as a console name for at least 3 reasons:
1. Revolution is already copyrighted and all that stuff.
2. a revolution isn’t a name, but is given afterwards to historical events in time. It can be used as a codename, but flashpoint isn’t a real name either.
3. You can’t use the name Revolution for a console that has te be the prime for over 5 years.
At the moment I can’t think of a better name then Wii
I like it short and a little bit weird isn’t that bad either.
It is kinda unexpected and trivial, but I’m sure they thought it all trough.
BTW We wasn’t possible because of that Clouthing Company.
The Wiizard of Nintendo
But that sounds different.
April 29th, 2006 at 4:29 pm
I think the name’s pretty sweet. I do feel kinda silly saying it, but it’s kinda romantic. It’s all about connectivity and net play and net content so it’s all about us/we^.^

Nintendo wins again.
Can anyone name a gaming website that DID NOT talk about the new name? Nintendo has squeezed publicity yet again. And they didn’t pay a single cent for it. Let’s see Sony and MS try that?
/fanboy
Yeah, the name sounds silly at first. But once you start playing the games, I don’t think you’ll care.

Besides, only half of the players of video games are US. And then there is the rest of the world who simply thinks Wii sounds funny. Wheeee!!! *runs of happily gigling*

Reincarnated, for my PvP brothers who loved what this game used to be. In honor of Excercitus.
First off, I rolled onto a pvp server thinking PVP. Massive, epic battles; defending and attacking towns every day. Raids everywhere you look. I rolled pvp thinking WARcraft. What did we get?
Battlegrounds and the Honor System
A grind. Every day, all day. A grind. Seriously, if I wanted to grind in an instance non-stop for my gear, I would have rolled pve. This so-called pvp is nothing but a pve grind in a pvp fashion. The battlegrounds lose their epicness when youve done them a hundred times+. And now, because of the addition of battlegrounds, there is no- other way to get Grand Marshal or High Warlord. Battlegrounds has absolutely RUINED the honor system, and Blizzard, even you know it. You know the battlegrounds were supposed to be fun, occasional things people did when they got tired of world pvp. You know what happened.
Dishonorable Kills
Whatever smoldering ruins was left of World PvP, DKs created a crater. Now raiding towns, cities, etc is not only a waste of your time, you get punished for it! And now, civilians will even attack you! Is this what you wanted Blizzard? Myself and many others see where you wanted to go with WoW, and every person who plays on a pvp server and longs for the same thing I do has seen where it went. This is WARcraft people, there is no honorable and dishonorable in war. Mechadeath says later in the thread:

PvP Flags
In real war, no enemy is going to stop from attacking you simply because youre olly olly oxen free. It should be no different here. There is no homesafe or Im on the green square so you cant attack me in war; so cut the crap Blizzard, and give us war.
World PvP
Our once populated areas filled with an actual feeling of war have been replaced with scarce lands with a few mobs and NPCs roaming around. Once in awhile you hear of a town or city raid, but its usually over by the time you get there. Emptiness is all that is left of World PvP, and the only types of battles you really see is small ganking. No wars, no massive pvp, just a few ganks here and there.
A New Hope? EPvP Servers
Extreme player versus player servers could solve all of these problems.
Battlegrounds: Either take it out, or make it so NO honor is gained while in there. And for all the people who say bgs would be useless if they took out honor, did you ever think of the bg rewards?
Dishonorable Kills: Take them out. Flat out, take them out. We shouldnt be restrained or punished from attacking the opposing factions town/city.
PvP Flags: Take them out. If youre worried about getting camped by a rogue in a starting area, then make it so you have to have a license for pvp. While you dont have a license, you are not allowed to attack the enemy faction, and they are not allowed to attack you. Also, you are kept to your starting area/areas. As soon as you hit level 10, you acquire a license to pvp, and after that any of the opposing faction can attack you, you can attack them, and youre allowed to roam freely.
World PvP: All of the above solutions would also solve this, as our areas would be more populated with people because of the loss or hit on battlegrounds, people would not be afraid to raid towns or cities because dishonorable kills would be gone, and it would be all-out with no PvP Flags.
Overall
Come-on Blizzard, it wouldnt be that hard, it honestly really wouldnt. Youd mostly be taking code out, rather than adding a ton of. Then toss up a few servers for us, and let them run. Problem solved. Pvers can have their servers, soft Pvprs can have their servers, and hardcore Pvprs can have their servers. Throw us a bone Blizzard, were begging you.
Please sign this petition. The more signatures on this we get, the more likely Blizzard is to make this kind of server for us. Any blue responses are welcome.

Thegreatest game I have and will probably ever played.
To some, Runescape is a way of life, almost like another world you can run to. You can do whatever you like (except for a few rules like offend other players and stuff), it is a free world out there. The whole idea of Runescape is very original, as it combines the ideas of real-time action, RPG and multiplayer games into a very basic program. What fascinates me the most is that your character is part of a diverse trade community, where every item, depending on its rarity, has an accepted “market value.” You can make armor, mine ores, become a woodcutter, fish and cook fishes, and make bows and arrows and so much more. Your limit is your imagination. It’s basically very similar to real life: improve your skills and make money off a particular trade, which will allow you to finance skills such as magic and ranged fighting that require a constant supply or runes and arrows respectively. You really get a sense of community in this game, because part of the gaming experience depends on the other players. When selling a commodity, a player can log on to a room that has a large amount of players, while those who want to train by fighting creatures without other people taking the kills may prefer to chose empty rooms. Although i’m not a member myself, it is possible to pay $5 a month and unlock tons of member benefits, including many new places to travel to, more items… etc.
RuneScape is a fun, challenging, and exciting game which is very important part of the life of many people.HAVE FUN!
